At St. Thomas we are intentional in using a wide variety of resources for our worship. Throughout the year we use prayers from Rite I (traditional language), Rite II (contemporary language), and Enriching Our Worship (modern language). Our hymn selections are taken from several of the authorized hymnals of the Episcopal Church. From time to time we also change the position of the altar to allow for fresh perspective and new experiences in worship.
Sacraments are traditionally defined as “outward and visible signs of inward and spiritual grace.” The two great sacraments are Baptism and Eucharist. Other sacraments in the Episcopal Church include: Confirmation, Marriage, Ordination, Reconciliation of a Penitent (Confession), and Unction (Anointing of the Sick).
Many people, not just the clergy, are involved in our liturgies each week. There are a wide range of opportunities for all to participate
